TRI-CITIES (October 5, 2026) – The Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce has launched its inaugural Executive Roundtable Series, bringing together a select group of local business leaders for confidential, peer-to-peer discussions focused on the challenges and opportunities of running and growing a business.
The first session, Aligning Your Team for Growth, brought together approximately 15 business owners and senior executives representing a diverse range of industries, including logistics, security, commercial cleaning, home care and manufacturing. The discussion focused on a challenge shared by many growing businesses: how to establish a clear vision, prioritize effectively and ensure teams are working toward the same goals.
Facilitated by SME Strategy, the session explored the importance of strategic clarity and the risks of pursuing too many priorities at once. Participants examined how a clearly defined vision, supported by measurable goals and a focused set of priorities, can help businesses make better decisions, allocate resources effectively and create stronger alignment among leadership teams and employees.
A key takeaway was that having a vision is not enough. Business leaders must be able to articulate what success looks like, establish measurable objectives and communicate the strategy in a way that resonates with their teams. Participants were encouraged to identify their top three priorities, establish meaningful performance indicators and ensure employees understand not only what the business is working toward but also how they contribute to its success.
Beyond the facilitated discussion, the roundtable provided an opportunity for business leaders to share experiences, explore common challenges and gain practical insights from peers facing similar decisions. Participants left with specific commitments to strengthen their strategic plans, clarify their business objectives and improve alignment within their organizations.
"The Executive Roundtable Series is about creating meaningful opportunities for business leaders to step away from the day-to-day demands of running their organizations and focus on the bigger picture," said Jennifer McKinnon, CEO of the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce. "These conversations allow leaders to learn from one another, challenge their thinking and leave with practical ideas they can put into action. We're excited to create a space where our members can have these important conversations with their peers."
The inaugural session marks the first of three planned Executive Roundtables in 2026. The series is designed for CEOs, business owners, executive directors and senior leaders who are looking for meaningful peer connections, practical business insights and opportunities to strengthen their organizations.
The next Executive Roundtable will take place on October 21, 2026, and will focus on Economic Outlook & Business Growth, featuring insights from the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC). Participation is limited and available by application only.
