BC Election Results: A New Chapter for Tri-Cities Representation

(TRI-CITIES) October 26, 2026 The results of British Columbia’s October 24 provincial election mark a significant moment for the Tri-Cities, with Conservative candidates winning in the three local ridings and BC NDP incumbent Mike Farnworth retaining his seat in Port Coquitlam.

Preliminary results reported by Elections BC with the leads going to, Matt Liang in Coquitlam-Maillardville, Ryan Peterson in Coquitlam-Burke Mountain, and John McEwen in Port Moody-Burquitlam, all representing the Conservative Party. In neighbouring Port Coquitlam, Mike Farnworth of the BC NDP has been re-elected, continuing his longstanding representation of the community.

For the Tri-Cities business community, the election marks an opportunity to strengthen relationships with elected representatives and advance priorities that support a competitive, sustainable local economy.

“As we look ahead, it is important that the business community has a strong voice in the decisions that shape our region’s future. We look forward to building relationships with our elected representatives, sharing our members' perspectives, and working together to create an environment where businesses can grow, invest and thrive.” siad Jennifer McKinnon, CEO, Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce

As businesses continue to navigate challenges related to operating costs, workforce availability, transportation, housing affordability and economic growth, collaboration between government and the business community will remain important.

The Chamber congratulates all successful candidates and thanks everyone who participated in the democratic process.
