Tri-Cities Chamber Represented at Provincial Chamber Conference in Fort St. John

(TRI-CITIES CHAMBER) June 9, 2026 The Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce was proudly represented at this year's B.C. Chamber of Commerce Annual General Meeting in Fort St. John by Board Chair Mohammad Darwish and CEO Jennifer McKinnon.

Bringing together chamber leaders, business advocates, and community builders from across British Columbia, the multi-day conference provided an important opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing businesses in every corner of the province. Delegates participated in workshops, networking events, governance discussions, and strategic conversations focused on strengthening local economies and enhancing the impact chambers have within their communities.

As the voice of business in the Tri-Cities, the Chamber plays a critical role in advocacy at the local, provincial, and federal levels. Events such as the B.C. Chamber AGM and Conference allow Chamber leaders to bring forward the priorities of Tri-Cities businesses while collaborating with colleagues from across the province on shared concerns including housing, workforce development, transportation, affordability, infrastructure, energy, and economic growth.

A key component of this annual conference is where chambers from throughout the province debated and voted on policy resolutions that will help shape the B.C. Chamber's advocacy agenda for the coming year. These policies form the foundation of the Chamber network's efforts to influence government decision-making and ensure the needs of businesses are heard.

Hosted by the Fort St. John and District Chamber of Commerce, the conference also showcased the significant economic contributions of Northeast B.C. Delegates had the opportunity to tour major projects and cultural destinations, including the John Horgan Dam (formally Site C), the Ovintiv Tower Gas Plant, and Tse'k'wa National Historic Site, gaining valuable insight into the industries and communities that help drive British Columbia's economy.

"The strength of the Chamber network comes from our ability to collaborate, share ideas, and advocate together," said Jennifer McKinnon, CEO of the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce. "Attending provincial conferences like this ensures that the voice of Tri-Cities businesses is represented in important conversations that help shape the future of our economy."

The Tri-Cities Chamber extends its thanks to the Fort St. John and District Chamber of Commerce for hosting a successful event and looks forward to continuing to work alongside chambers across British Columbia to advance policies and initiatives that support business success and strong communities.
