(Tri-Cities) March 10, 2026 International Women’s Day is a global celebration of the economic, political, and social achievements of women—past, present, and future. On Friday, March 6, the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce proudly hosted our annual International Women’s Day Celebration at the Vancouver Golf Club.
This year’s event embraced the theme #GiveToGain, highlighting how investing in others—through mentorship, collaboration, advocacy, and community—creates opportunities for growth for everyone. Attendees were invited to share knowledge, elevate diverse voices, and foster meaningful connections that drive both personal and professional advancement. Our inspiration this year, “She Opened the Door for Me,” honoured the mentors, sponsors, and allies who break barriers and pave the way for the next generation of leaders.
"Every opportunity begins with someone opening a door" says Jennifer Mckinnon, CEO Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce. "This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the women who lifted others up, created space at the table, and made it easier for the next generation to step forward. When one woman opens the door, countless others walk through."
The event featured a lineup of remarkable women who shared their stories, insights, and strategies for creating lasting impact through generosity of time, experience, and support.

Our keynote Katrina Chen inspired attendees with stories of resilience, leadership, and the power of mentorship to open doors for the next generation. Including the audience, Katrina engaged our membership to share their own stories of mentorship and impact. CEO Jennifer McKinnon, as moderator, guided the conversation with thoughtful questions that drew out practical insights and personal experiences from the speakers, helping translate inspiration into actionable takeaways. Our panelists shared strategies for lifting others: Sarah Cameron on building inclusive teams and supporting women in male-dominated industries; Joanna Tong on how intentional giving and diversity create lasting impact across communities; and Jesi Neill on empowering colleagues and fostering collaboration in complex, high-stakes environments. Together, they brought #GiveToGain to life, showing that when women support each other, everyone rises..
#GiveToGain: The Power of Generosity
IWD 2026 challenged participants to embrace a mindset of generosity and collaboration. GiveToGain emphasizes that when people, organizations, and communities give intentionally, opportunities for women expand. Giving is not a subtraction—it’s a multiplication. When women thrive, we all rise.
The Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce thanks everyone who joined us for an inspiring morning of stories, insights, and connection. Together, we continue to open doors, lift each other, and grow stronger as a community.
