Happy New Year from Jennifer

(TRI-CITIES) January 6, 2026 — Seven months into my role in Chamber leadership, I’m incredibly grateful for the trust, collaboration, and energy that surround this work. In a short time, I’ve built truly impactful partnerships—grounded in a shared passion for supporting business, strengthening our local economy, and showing up for our community in real, practical ways.

As we close out the year, there is genuine reason for optimism. A recent BIV News article highlighted declining unemployment and a healthy upward trajectory heading into 2026. That momentum matters—and it reinforces why chambers play such a vital role in our communities. You can learn more about the article here.

Membership isn’t just about access to programs or events; it’s about collective influence. When small and medium-sized businesses are supported through strong partnerships with larger, prominent organizations, the ripple effect benefits the entire business ecosystem. That’s the greater good—and it’s something I’m deeply proud to be part of.

Looking ahead, 2026 will bring a strong focus on member-exclusive events centered on timely, relevant topics, particularly with the civic election approaching. We’ll work thoughtfully with elected officials and candidates to create safe, intentional spaces where members can hear platforms, ask questions, and engage in meaningful dialogue.

Advocacy has also been a key focus since I stepped into this role—and it will remain so moving forward. In 2025 alone, this work has included (but certainly has not been limited to):

  • Transportation efficiency for business
  • Green initiatives and their impact on the automotive industry (thank you to Adrian Dix for acknowledging this important conversation)
  • Student wage considerations
  • Short-term rentals and Airbnb
  • Immigration challenges
  • Commercial property tax…and more

I look forward to continuing this work—strong and steady—into 2026.

Here’s to a positive, healthy, and opportunity-filled year ahead—for each of you, and for our business community as a whole. Thank you for being part of the journey.
