Mississauga, Ontario (October 13, 2025) This past week, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Conference in Mississauga, bringing together representatives from chambers across Canada and various stakeholders to engage in a spirited celebration of collaboration, education, and advocacy.
Attendees were energized by discussions that emphasized the importance of a united front in supporting small businesses and strengthening Canada's economy. Among the key issues addressed were resolutions focusing on small business tax incentives, challenging the ambitious targets set by the federal zero-emission mandate for the automotive sector, and advocating for the revitalization of automotive manufacturing. Furthermore, recognizing the downturn in charitable contributions, we passionately promoted policies aimed at incentivizing charitable giving, a vital component in supporting communities across the country.

The consensus from our esteemed speakers and educators was powerful: it is essential to utilize the streets of Canada to advocate for a more robust regulatory framework that enhances economic competitiveness and fosters resource development. This call to action resonated profoundly with conference participants, reinforcing the critical role that policy plays in shaping our economic landscape.
The atmosphere throughout the conference was nothing short of inspiring. Connections were forged and reconnections were made as attendees engaged in conversations about the current economic outlook, tariffs, housing challenges, and the hesitancy that often accompanies business decisions. The exchange of ideas underscored the invaluable work being done by chambers across the nation to support businesses and advocate for their interests.
Chamber CEO, Jennifer McKinnon, emphasized the importance of unity, stating, “Together, we are growing our collective voice for the best way forward for business.”
