Feature Member – Place des Arts

Established in 1972, Place des Arts is a non-profit arts centre and music school located in the historic Maillardville community of Coquitlam. Place des Arts offers high-quality, tuition-based arts education for all ages and abilities in the visual, performing and literary arts. The centre also supports local emerging artists by providing exhibition space in its three galleries and sales opportunities through its gift shop. Place des Arts inspires the community through its free and ticketed cultural events and ignites creativity in children and youth by offering specialized art camps.
Since 1990, the Place des Arts’ scholarship and bursary program has assisted over 275 students, helping them gain enriched training in their chosen disciplines. On October 15, 2011, Place des Arts will host its inaugural gala fundraiser, Impromptu: An Invitation You Can’t Refuse, the proceeds of which will benefit the scholarship and bursary program.
