King Edward Street Overpass Project Update – May 18, 2011

For your information, Kiewit (the contractor working on the King Edward Overpass Project) has confirmed that the 12-week full closure of King Edward Street, from Lougheed to United Boulevard, is scheduled to begin on August 6, 2011.

The following information (in further detail) will be provided in the future prior to the closure:

  • The plan for ensuring emergency response during the 12-week closure
  • The traffic management plan, which includes the signage and detour plans
  • The public transit plan
  • The Travel Smart plan, which includes encouraging other modes of travel for employees rather than single occupant vehicles
