Winners announced at the 2009/2010 Business Excellence Awards Gala (Jan. 15, 2010)

Friday was an evening of excitement for the Tri-Cities business community, when the 2009/2010 Business Excellence Awards were held at the Red Robinson Show Theatre.
It all started with the call for nominations in five categories, reviews by a selection committee, narrowing the choices to four, announcing three finalists at the Nominees’ Luncheon, then another round of judging. The event culminated in the premiere business event of the year held on Friday January 15th when the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce lavishly honoured individuals and corporations doing business in the communities of Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody at the annual Business Excellence Awards Gala. The event took place in the Red Robinson Theatre at Boulevard Casino. Rich Elwood, writer/producer of comedy for stage, television and radio was the MC for the evening, orchestrating the announcement of the winners in five award categories, as listed below;

Doug Stead, Tri-M Group of Companies, who in turn repatriated the award to fellow nominee, Ernie “Punch” McLean, Golden Bear Mining Ltd.Not for Profit of the Year

Chamber Member of the Year, John Wolff (previously celebrated at the Chair’s Dinner held in November) spoke on the benefits of being a Chamber member.
Following the awards, the crowd was treated to music provided by Arrival, who played the first set as an ABBA tribute band and the second set , a variety of great music that kep the crowd dancing until midnight.
